The Story
Iām a 5th generation Californian and my artwork is influenced by my deep roots in this special place - my maternal ancestors arrived in San Francisco just after the Gold Rush. Flash forward well over a century, and my family still calls the Bay Area home. After graduating with an art degree from UC Berkeley, I set out to find a way to combine my love for illustration and stationery with my interest in nostalgia, family history and our beautiful state. The resulting line of paper goods and gifts is a vintage-inspired celebration of color, nature and California.
While each illustration and design begins with my own personal story intertwined, my mission is have them become beautiful reminders of home, travel and adventures for you!
The Art
I illustrate each and every design myself using a combination of traditional and digital methods - gouache paint and my trusty iPad will always have my heart! While I have a fine art background and studied realism, my artistic style today is full of color, whimsy and slight imperfection that adds a fun, hand-drawn touch to each design.
The Team
Brenna Daugherty Illustration is almost a one-woman operation, but I couldn't do it without the help of my art director-husband extraordinaire, Eric, or our labradoodle Apollo, who makes sure I get outside for frequent dog-walk breaks!
